Rachael is away to the Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts this week where she will be presenting: Strategic post consent monitoring of breeding harbour seals at the Wash SAC.

This will be the 4th Conference on Wind energy and Wildlife impacts and is being held in Estoril, Portugal this week. It looks like a fantastic line up, with presentations covering species behaviour, impact monitoring, tools & technologies, planning & policy and population impact modelling.

Rachaels presentation will be on recent work conducted with SMRU and funded by the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm (Statoil). The project involved a more strategic approach to post consent monitoring to support our understanding of the status of the Wash harbour seal population. If you are attending the conference pop along to see her presentation and learn more about the harbour seal monitoring on Wed 6th at 4:30pm in parallel session 4: Species behaviour – offshore II.

Rachael will also be live tweeting throughout the conference so keep an eye on our twitter posts for conference highlights!
