We’re delighted to be working with Microsoft on this and to share this milestone, showcasing the real-world, real-time capability of our Communications Acoustic Buoy #CAB system to do just that.

At SMRU Consulting, we’ve been proud to support this work - helping provide real-time acoustic monitoring so whales can be detected, noise can be monitored and drive good stewardship in busy offshore environments. This partnership with Microsoft AI for Good Lab and Maritime Blue has been a great way to affect change with robust, rapid, evidence-based insights.

The work we’ve done in the Pacific Northwest with #CAB, with programmes like Quiet Sound from Maritime Blue and Vancouver Fraser Port Authority's #ECHO program are so fulfilling and impactful. It’s so genuinely exciting to show the world how CAB has and is being used in this way over the past decade.

This way of working with #CAB can support many marine industry sectors like #offshorewind #ports #infrastructure #fisheries. We've done this with Haventus at Ardersier and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and this is a great roadmap to follow.

Being a good steward depends on rapid, practical, evidence-led solutions and strong collaboration, and we’re grateful to play a part in advancing these.
